Local Characteristics

Iitate Village is located on the Pacific Ocean side of Fukushima Prefecture. In the past, the village flourished mainly through agriculture and stockbreeding, and became famous for its highland flower cultivation and brand-name Iitate beef. Recently, the village has seen an increase in the number of young people moving to the area, creating a new and lively atmosphere.

Concept

With the population of permanent residents declining, we are hoping to increase the number of related residents, and are actively planning participation in local events, including petit agricultural experiences and tours of local hot spots, in order to attract people in younger age groups from urban areas and create a lively village and exciting experience. And I’m working that I want to make more in charge of the platform for the people who are visiting.

Since here is the Guest House, our motto is to have the time to interact with visiters. We can have BBQs together, and since I also represent a local sports club, we can play a variety of sports in the gymnasium or on the playing field. We can also connect you with local farmers and business people for hands-on exchanges.

Recently, the increasing number of young settlers so that also increased the number of people who are managing interesting business enterprises. We have a connection with them so you can do short period internship.

Accessibility

Fukushima Airport

There is only one convenience store nearby, and no supermarkets. So, for shopping, we will drive together.
It takes about 3 hours from the guest house to Fukushima Airport.
It takes about 2 hours to Sendai Airport.

Location

It takes about 1 hour by bus from JR Fukushima Station and 40 minutes by bus from JR Haranomachi Station to the roadside station in Iidate Village, where you will find Iidate Michi no Eki (Roadside Station). From there, it takes about 40 minutes on foot, so please call us and we will pick you up. There is only one convenience store in the village. So please buy your groceries in advance. In the worst case, we can help you with shopping. Free Wi-Fi is available in the building, so you can work on your computer.

Shuttle Service

Available. For the nearest stations, Fukushima or Haranomachi, 2,000 yen one way. To Sendai Airport: 4,000 yen one way.
