Many people have gathered in this old house neither a store nor an inn.

Concept
Established in May 2015. Neither a store nor an accommodation, but a hundred-year-old Japanese house in a tiny village of only 6 houses. Over 70 people have lived together in 5 years and over 8,400 people have visited. Instead of providing a specific experience value, we offers a variety of possibilities. I am enjoying the empathy and development through communal living and various encounters with visitors.
3 Key Points
1Host’s introduction
I moved to here and have lived in this house for over 5 years, and my job is app development. My wife is on childcare leave and our son is 9 months old. There are always around 10 other people living here trying out new ways of working and living. In the past, foreigners and single mothers with children lived with us.

An oasis in my life I have had the opportunity to meet a lot of people and it has been a very valuable experience.
Having the courage to take on the challenge of studying abroad in the countryside this time has given me new questions and perspectives on why I want to live here, and what kind of people I want to spend time with.
It was a learning experience that gave me great suggestions for my future life, way of life and livelihood.

I believe that margins are important in life.
I was there in February, so I could enjoy Tokamachi's unique snowy landscape.
The only 'helping' I did for them was shoveling and clearing snow!
Here, meals were prepared by whoever wanted to cook, so it was okay if you couldn't cook.
I didn't have a car, so the residents and local people took me to many places!
Tokamachi is a very active community, so I think it's a good idea to go and meet all kinds of people!
It was a quiet village, but I had a lot of time to spare and had a lot of dialogue with my host, Hal.
It gave me time to face myself and was a good experience.
Thank you very much. (20s / Female / February / 1 month)
