Attracted by the overwhelming beauty of Fukui’s sea, mountains, and sky, and amazed by the delicious rice, sake, and water, I moved here from the Kansai region because of the abundance of nature within easy to reach. You can also enjoy the changes of the four seasons.
Concept
With the goal of “spending time together and learning together,” we live freely and comfortably with our children. Our ideal is to live happily in a comfortable environment, being in contact with nature, learning from the Japanese way of careful living, and being inspired by our multi-generational and multi-national members.

We have three children, a baby (expecting this fall), + a roommate who live with us, we living together fulfill with happiness. Sometimes there are short-term stays by foreigners. Our occupation is an employee of an NPO for international volunteer activities and a mothering.

The surrounding area is residential and has good access to all parts of the city. I don’t think there is any inconvenience in daily life. We have opportunities to get involved with local people at each regions. So that I can also introduce you to people of various genres in and outside of Fukui Prefecture.
3You can experience like this!
Experience of the international volunteer work in Japan and abroad, expertise in natural child-rearing and making preserved foods. Also, knowledge of wood and construction-related fields. The idea is enjoying a delicious meal together with a friendly atmosphere.
Must like children. Anyone who is willing to play with children before and after dinner is welcome. If you can wash dishes after dinner, it would be very helpful.
We are opening a shared office & event space in 2022, so people interested in planning and developing the space are also welcome.

Breakfast and lunch are on your own (rice, bread, etc.). We will eat dinner together. Basically, I will go out during the daytime on weekdays, so if you want to go sightseeing, you go by yourself. On weekends, we may be able to go with you.

Yes, there are jobs in the timber distribution industry, such as unloading and warehouse work. There are also staff positions at a shared office and event space (reception, etc.). If you are interested, farm work part-time jobs can also be introduced.

Is it difficult to go out together since you have children? Are there opportunities to go out together during the stay?
A
Although we have children, if the timing is right, we can go out together. Since we live in a residential area, we often go for picnics or nature experiences. Sometimes we also go to volunteer activities.

I spent a happy and fulfilling stay with their children
Thank you very much for the two weeks!
It was warm and lively there and above all their children are lovely!
I was so happy to spend every day at Mizuguchi-san's house.
Thanks to the kindness of Gou and Miho and their ability to connect people, I was able to go sightseeing, play with the kids, have parties with about 20 people and attend events.
I was also able to do some small work with a farmer who grows Japanese taro! I also served them home-cooked food, which they enjoyed. I love and admire the Mizuguchi family, who are full of happiness and love.
I look forward to seeing their children grow up, so I will go back again ♡.

It was the best summer I have ever enjoyed with all my senses.
I spent days so tremendously fulfilled that it's impossible to describe it with verbalisations of just "great" or "happy" or "fun."
I went from Tokyo and was amazed by the morning sun coming in through the window. It was so refreshing to see the beautiful sky at eye level when I walked out the front door of their house every day!
The co-working space on the ground floor is designed with wood, it was my favourite space!

A very productive two weeks
A very productive two weeks
It was a very fulfilling two weeks. I stayed with Gosan and Miho for about a week in total.
The other week I stayed in town with a farmer who introduced me to farming, both as a small job and as a volunteer.
Their children are lovely. I was able to sightsee, enjoy nature, farm, help them with their work, meet many people... I was very happy with my stay in the countryside! Miho and Go-san gave me a lot of experiences, thank you ✨.

Every day is a party time

The hosts were very helpful and accommodating to my sudden changes.

After a lively three-week stay
I stayed here for three weeks.
I was very happy to be part of a warm and énergique family members!
Staying with the Mizuguchi family gave me the opportunity to interact with many people, from my friends' families and their children to adults with a wide range of social experiences.
All the people I met there were lovely people and it was a very important experience for me to be able to interact with them. I really enjoyed playing with the energetic children and having relaxed conversations with the adults!
I felt at home in the house and wanted to come back again soon!
